Nepal-Upper Khumbu
The Upper Khumbu region of Nepal begins beyond most Sherpa villages and rises to the feet of the highest mountains in the world. The air is thin, the cold is burning, the sun is biting, the snow is blinding and the wind can keep you up all night. Life feels tenuous and yet also transcendent. The images in this collection made over eight years offer glimpses of the stark beauty of land at the edge of life in this extreme alpine environment.
