Mystery of Manaslu
The first image in this series, made in 2013, was the first 8,000m peak I laid eyes on and my first image of an eight-thousander. I could not believe my eyes and it remains one of my favorite images. Ten years later it was astonishing to climb Manaslu, "Spirit Mountain" (8,156m/26,759ft), to Camp III at 23,000ft, however we were not able to summit because avalanches caused the closure of the mountain, so Manaslu remains a mystery to me, which in some ways is just as it should be.
