Elevated: Alta, Utah

Alta is derived from the Latin word for "high," an apt name for this tiny skiers-only area at the far end of a valley in the Wasatch range of Utah. Skiing in the constantly changing light and powder and challenging terrain at Alta is truly a high, and this collection is intended to evoke the elevated experience of being there. The images were made on two ten-day visits, winter and spring of 2024. The second springtime visit I was able to photograph with the remarkable new Leica SL3 in all conditions, sunshine to blizzard.
