🏔️American Himalayan Foundation Annual Dinner
Oct 24, 2025What an absolute JOY to be among so many friends of the Himalayas gathered together in San Francisco, California to support the excellent work of the American Himalayan Foundation.
The evening was festive, informative, inspiring and engaging. Lead by Norbu Tenzing Norgay and John Krakauer, there was a focus on female climbers – honoring Junko Taibei, the first woman to summit Everest (1975), and Dawa Yangzum Sherpa, the first Sherpa/Nepali woman to summit the 14 8,000m Peaks (2024).
Featured speakers Yangchen Dolker presented a poignant update about climate change in Upper Mustang, and Melissa Arnot Reid gave a keynote address offering insights into her extraordinary new book, Enough.
