Around 1917, photographer and gallerist Alfred Stieglitz wrote to the young Georgia O’Keeffe, “Just keep going……”
I often wonder, what if she hadn’t? What if she stopped painting during the Spanish Flu epidemic? What if she ceased during World War II? What if she let critical assumptions intimidate her? What if she ended her long creative path decades too soon? All this is to say that it’s so important to just… keep… going…
And so despite the pandemic, lockdowns, loss, and change what has stayed the same is sharing one collection a month – a photo or so a day on Instagram. Each collection of images reflects the whole. They are not escapism, they have been so healing and re-connecting. The images remain a deep reflection on life and light.
