In A Meeting
Mar 27, 2016One of the wildest spring snow squalls I’ve ever seen blew through the Rio Grande Valley as I was in a meeting several weeks ago. FortunateIy I had my camera by my side and stood half-inside, half-outside photographing while engaging with meeting discussion. Multi-tasking is not my preference, but I’m so glad I did. Sometimes it takes a bit of guts and a lot of apologizing to interrupt the agenda, but life has a different pace and so does photography.
Consider the photos we wouldn’t have if photographers didn’t stop to honor the moment though they were supposed to be elsewhere – “Moon Over Hernandez” by Ansel Adams, “Migrant Mother” by Dorothea Lange to name just two. In the end, the meeting was a success and so was capturing the snow squall.
