Silver Belles
Mar 3, 2016I completed two solid months of editing Nepal images at 6am Saturday morning and left for a week in Aspen at 8am. It was so good to be back in the high mountains and away from the computer screen. Mid-week we went for an afternoon walk and ended up hiking 20 miles in 5 hours in snow, slush and ice. Some of that time was running to beat the light, but it was worth it to spend a few minutes all alone at the base of the Maroon Belles, in the solitude and silvery light of late afternoon. The Leica SL handled the backlit mountains with ease, capturing enough detail, even at their shadowy base to create images that were worth the effort. But photos or not, the experience of the afternoon was truly sublime.
