The Layering Of Experience
Nov 1, 2015Our perception is more like a double exposure. We simultaneously see both micro and macro, details and big picture. The image above is a layering of two photographs made on the same day in Kamakura, Japan. The koi is a temple fish, huge, old and sacred. The graffiti scratchings were inside the great Daibutsu, Great Buddha of Kamakura. Layered, the images suggest swimming in the subtle conscious, inside the deep, flowing Buddha Nature of mind. This composite was a quiet breakthrough and a way of image making I look forward to further exploring.
