Into Japan…
Nov 1, 2015Experiencing Japan is experiencing an unfolding… Arrival is different from entering Japan. Layers emerge in narrowing neighborhood streets, in gated temple confines, on mountain trails, in homes and the intricate kindnesses of the people. I felt fortunate to spend five weeks in Japan on my way to and from Nepal as the colors of autumn emerged. Highlights included summiting Mt. Fuji, Shinto brides being prepared for their weddings at the Meiji shrine, Halloween in Tokyo’s Harajuku District, being struck (by request!) with a zen kiesaku and a long morning wandering the paths of Fushimi Inari Shrine, with it’s myriad red torii gates. A deep bow to Japan.
In Light,
