Radiant ResilienceSep 30, 2015
I wasn’t quite sure what to expect when my flight landed on the other side of the world, in Kathmandu, Nepal, a city and country I’d come to love before the devastating April 2015 earthquake. Had I not had a show in New York that very week I would have flown in to help and photograph immediately, instead we did what we could from this side of the globe. We helped friends through the disaster, raising relief funds, raising awareness and offering encouragement.
Standing before the great stupa at Swayambunath, five months after the quake I was awed by it’s symbolic radiant strength, despite the massive cracks. Eyes gazing ever outward towards Kathmandu, calm between rattled earth and intense sky – radiant resilience.
