Let There Be Light… And Leica
Jan 1, 2015 My grandfather purchased his first Leica, probably a IIIC, and had a great love of photography and Leica for the rest of his life. I grew up around his shelves of Leica gear, grey boxes of slides and whirring slide projector. My grandfather’s engraved SL2 eventually became my first camera and favorite teacher. It is still in working condition and I use many of my grandfather’s lenses today. In the vintage photo above my grandfather crouches with a tripod set to the level of my then-toddler father.
My grandfather’s IIIC was probably traded for new gear seventy years ago and is long gone, but I found one at Samy’s Camera. The new year has begun at the beginning!
In Light,
Cira
